Manoir de Montagne in Hermanus

Manoir de Montagne has the feel of French Provençal blended with the Cape Dutch of a truly South African farmstead. Majestically positioned at the foot of the Overberg Mountains, this manor provides spacious self-catering accommodation on large grounds, ideal for families in need of vast open spaces where children can safely have fun while adults enjoy entertainment around the artfully designed pool or undercover BBQ/braai area. It is situated in Voelklip in Hermanus, just a short drive from Grotto Beach.

A large front patio invites guests through French doors into a euphoric dance with time, where old and new join hands to provide joyful decor fit for lavish moments of rest and relaxation, entertainment and family togetherness facilitated by the spacious lounge / dining room areas and the large, farm-style open-plan kitchen. Guests can either relax on the front patio or in the courtyard area beside the pool. A separate BBQ/braai area on the other side of a self-contained cottage completes the picture.

The home can accommodate 10 guests (plus two children on request) and comprises 5 bedrooms, 3 of which are in the main house. The fourth room, located in the fully equipped cottage, is ideal for family add-ons or an au pair. A fifth room is housed separate from the main house. The main en-suite bedroom contains a king-size bed and has a private balcony with beautiful views of the sea and lagoon in the distance. The bathroom features a bath and a shower. The second bedroom contains a queen-size bed and has a large shower with separate toilet. This room has two small balconies overlooking the garden / pool area as well as the ocean. The third bedroom is hugged by Bedrooms 1 and 2 and offers a double bed and bathroom with a shower.

The self-contained cottage comprises a kitchenette, small tv lounge, bathroom with a shower, and upstairs room with a queen-size bed. A sleeper couch is available for two children.

The fifth bedroom with en-suite shower has twin beds and may be used for a nanny or au pair.

The main house open-plan kitchen is equipped with a fridge/freezer, a gas hob and electric oven, a microwave, a kettle and toaster, a french press, a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as basic cleaning materials. In the lounge is a TV with Dstv, and a wood-fired fireplace. The cottage kitchenette is equipped with a small stove and fridge.

Guests can enjoy the private garden, as well as the outdoor seating area for alfresco dining, and the braai facilities. Parking is also available to guests, and the property is secure with an alarm system.
